We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the train station located in the town of Poroy (a 30-minute drive). There, we will board our train for the journey to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 meters above sea level), a trip that takes 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Upon arrival at the train station, our guide will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your names. Together, we will go to the bus station for a 30-minute ascent of 400 meters along a winding road to reach the incredible wonder of the world, the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas.
Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu citadel, you will pass through the entrance checkpoint where you will present your ticket. From there, the guided tour will begin. You will visit the main sites of the city, including the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. The guided tour will last more than two hours.
Afterward, you will have free time to explore the citadel and Machu Picchu on your own. Then, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch at one of the many restaurants.
In the afternoon, you will take the train back to Cusco (please arrive at the station 30 minutes before your train’s departure time). The return journey follows the same route as the outbound trip. Upon arrival at the Poroy train station, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco (a 30-minute drive).
We will arrive back in Cusco at approximately 9:00 PM.
