City Tour Arequipa

The tour begins at 9:00 AM with passengers meeting at a pre-arranged location near Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas. From there, the group takes a short walk of approximately three blocks to the double-decker panoramic tour bus, specially designed to offer stunning views of the city.

At 9:15 AM, the tour begins aboard the bus, starting with a scenic drive through Arequipa’s main avenues and traditional neighborhoods. During the journey, a professional guide accompanies the group, providing historical and cultural information, as well as interesting facts about the White City, allowing visitors to learn about its colonial past, its sillar architecture, and the importance of its volcanoes.

The first stop is at 9:30 AM in the traditional district of Yanahuara, one of the city’s most iconic areas. Here, passengers have free time to explore the famous sillar stone portals, visit the district church, and take photos with one of the best views of the Misti volcano. Optionally, you can sample the traditional queso helado, a typical Arequipa dessert.

At 10:00 a.m., the tour continues to the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, a strategic vantage point offering panoramic views of the vast Arequipa countryside, agricultural terraces, and a stunning natural landscape dominated by the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. Entry to this viewpoint is optional and provides unique panoramic photo opportunities.
Later, at 10:30 a.m., a stop is made at the Incalpaca Mini Zoo, a space dedicated to the conservation of South American camelids. During the visit, travelers can observe alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and guanacos up close, as well as learn interesting information about alpaca fiber. Admission is free, and time is available for photos.

At the end of the tour, around 11:50 a.m., you’ll visit the traditional Sabandía Mill, an old watermill surrounded by green spaces and nature. Here, you’ll have free time to explore the mill, relax, and optionally participate in recreational activities such as horseback riding, ATV tours, ziplining, or enjoy typical Arequipa cuisine at nearby restaurants.
The tour concludes after the visit, leaving you with a comprehensive overview of Arequipa’s most iconic attractions, combining history, culture, natural landscapes, and local traditions in an ideal half-day experience.
