The experience begins very early with a pick-up from the Puno Bus Terminal or directly from your hotel, depending on your arrival time. Afterward, we’ll head to the dock to board the boat that will take us across Lake Titicaca.
Our first stop will be at the Floating Islands of the Uros, where you’ll learn about the lifestyle of this ancestral community, whose islands are built entirely from totora reeds. You’ll learn about their customs, traditions, and how they keep their construction techniques alive.
We continue sailing to Amantaní Island, a tranquil and authentic place, where you’ll be welcomed by local families. After a traditional lunch prepared with local products, you’ll have time to relax and adjust to the surroundings.
In the afternoon, we’ll hike to the island’s highest point, Pacha Tata, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca at sunset. As night falls, you’ll share a typical dinner and participate in a cultural activity with local music and dances. The night is spent in a family home, experiencing a genuine cultural exchange.
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to our host family and depart for Taquile Island, famous for its community organization and its textile tradition, recognized by UNESCO.
Upon arrival, we’ll take a moderate walk to the main square, which offers breathtaking views of the lake. Here, you’ll learn about the significance of Taquile’s textiles and the ancestral techniques passed down through generations.
Afterward, you’ll enjoy a typical lunch on the island before descending to the dock to board the boat back to Puno. During the final leg of the journey, you can relax and admire the scenery of the world’s highest navigable lake.
