Itinerary

Uros - Taquile

The day begins very early, around 5:00 a.m., with a pick-up from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port on Lake Titicaca. There, we’ll board a tourist boat to begin our journey across the waters of the world’s highest navigable lake.

Our first stop will be at the famous floating islands of the Uros, constructed entirely from totora reeds. During the visit, you’ll learn firsthand how these communities have managed to maintain their ancestral customs, their way of life on the water, and their traditional boats. You’ll have time to explore the island, take photos, and, if you wish, take a ride on a totora reed boat (optional).
We’ll continue our journey to the magical island of Taquile, where we’ll arrive after approximately two hours of sailing. Once on the island, we’ll take a leisurely hike along its trails, enjoying spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Upon arriving at the main village, the inhabitants will welcome you with their hospitality and showcase their textile art, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Then, we’ll enjoy a typical lunch prepared by the community, usually featuring fresh trout or quinoa, accompanied by local herbal teas. After spending time with the villagers and learning more about their customs, we’ll begin our descent to the port of Taquile to board our return boat.

Finally, we’ll sail back across the lake to the port of Puno, arriving around 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., where this unforgettable experience, filled with culture, tradition, and the unique landscapes of the Peruvian highlands, comes to an end.
